Description
Matched material from a single donor removes the confound that ruins most co-culture and multi-omic comparisons, and it is available as a catalogue item and as a quotable service, which almost nobody uses. Coriell's record for line GM23338 cross-references it to GM23248, the parent fibroblast; GM20431, a lymphoblast line from the same subject; NA23248, DNA; and HM23338, high molecular weight DNA. That is four sample types from one donor, orderable at the same published two-tier fees, at $1,187.00 US academic and $1,878.00 commercial per item. The record also notes honestly that the parent fibroblast expansion was mosaic for a translocation no longer present in the stem cell, a disclosure that complicates the sale and belongs on the page. Where the required combination does not exist in a repository, it is a purchase order rather than a research collaboration: Cell Applications advertises isolation from virtually any tissue or animal species, normal or diseased, to unique donor profiles, and explicitly offers different cell types from the same donor, established under a controlled culture environment with expansion, freezing, documentation and testing included.
