Supply side
What we send you, what we expect, and how you get paid
If you run a laboratory that can make, culture, fabricate or test living material, this page states the deal in full before you decide whether to engage with us. There is no listing fee, no placement fee, and no arrangement in which paying us improves your position.
What arrives in your inbox
A request from us should be less work to quote than a request that came direct. If it is not, tell us and we will fix the request.
A normalised specification, not a vague enquiry
The component, the format and geometry, the quantity, the delivery condition, the functional acceptance criterion, and the quality documents required with the shipment. Restated into your terms and your units before it reaches you.
A real buyer with a real requirement
We do not circulate speculative requests to test the market or to build a price database. Every request is behind a named buyer who has told us what they need and roughly when. If a request is exploratory, we say so in the request itself.
A stated scope, identical to what your competitors received
Every laboratory approached gets the same scope, the same quantity and the same QC list. You are not being asked to guess what the others were told, and you are not being played against a scope nobody else was quoting.
The buyer’s identity, only when they have released it
By default you receive the technical content without the buyer’s name, institution or application. Where knowing the buyer would materially improve your quote, we ask them to release it and tell you when they have.
A decision, either way
You are told when you have won and when you have not. A quote that goes nowhere still gets a reply saying so. Silence after a quote is a thing we consider rude, not a thing we do.
A single point of contact
One person holds the request end to end. You are not handed between a sourcing team, an account manager and a coordinator who each ask you the same question.
What we do not do to suppliers
Six practices common in brokerage that we have ruled out. They are listed so you can hold us to them.
- Fishing. We do not send requests we know have no buyer behind them.
- Reverse auctions. We do not show your number to a competitor and invite them to undercut it.
- Silent scope changes. If the buyer moves the requirement, you get a re-issued request, not an amended expectation.
- Price harvesting. Quotes are not collected to build a public pricing dataset. Published prices on our catalogue come from your own public pages, with the source and capture date shown.
- Unpaid pilots. We do not ask for a free first article to prove you are worth quoting.
- Listing fees. You are never asked to pay us to appear on the site or to be recommended.
What we expect back
Eight things. None of them is a discount.
| Expectation | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| A real quote | A number you will honour, with a stated validity period, itemised so that non-recurring engineering, materials, labour, QC and freight can be seen separately. A number you would withdraw on contact is worse than a decline. |
| An honest lead time | Counted from a named start event, with the gating constraint stated — production cadence, cell expansion, incubation minimum, courier window, permit. We would rather publish eight weeks that holds than four that does not. |
| A fast decline | If the work is not for you, saying so within a few days is genuinely valuable and costs you nothing with us. Declines are reported to the buyer as part of the result and are not held against you. |
| QC documentation named at quotation | Which certificates travel with the goods, by which method, against which acceptance criterion, and whether values are typical, guaranteed or lot-specific. What is not on the quote will not be in the box, and we will have told the buyer that. |
| Accurate capability claims | If you sell the casting device rather than the formed tissue, say so. We classify that distinction explicitly on every catalogue entry, and a supplier who blurs it creates a failed delivery three months later. |
| A named technical contact | Someone who can answer a specification question without routing it through a sales team. Most requests fail on a technical detail that one email would have resolved. |
| Notice when something slips | On the day you know, not on the day it becomes undeniable. Living material has no slack, and a buyer who is told early can usually re-plan around it. |
| Research use only | Research use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. We do not route clinical, diagnostic or human-use work, and we will not ask you to supply against a claim you cannot make. |
How we pay
The commercial structure, stated before you quote rather than after you win.
| Who issues the order | Wetware World, where the engagement carries our margin. The buyer directly, where the engagement is a flat brokerage fee. You are told which before you quote. |
|---|---|
| Payment terms | Your standard terms unless we have agreed otherwise in writing on the purchase order. We do not impose terms on a supplier as a condition of receiving requests. |
| Deposits and non-recurring engineering | Where tooling, mould design or protocol development is required, the deposit and milestone structure is agreed in the quotation and passed through to the buyer as a visible line rather than absorbed. |
| How our margin is handled | Added by us, disclosed to the buyer as its own line, and never taken from your price. We do not ask you to discount so that we can mark up and still look competitive. |
| What we never take | A listing fee, a placement fee, a ranking fee, or a commission contingent on which supplier the buyer selects. Our income comes from work that actually ships. |
| Currency and freight | Quote in your own currency and state your freight basis. Normalisation onto a common basis for comparison is our job, not yours. |
Our margin is disclosed to the buyer as its own line beside your price where the engagement is structured that way. If that visibility is a problem for you, say so before quoting and we will discuss whether the flat-fee structure fits better, or whether we should not work together at all.
How you get onto the list
Six steps. Currently 26 entries across 9 categories, of which 14 are verified against a live primary source.
- 01
You apply, or we find you
Most entries in the survey came from reading suppliers’ own published material rather than from applications. Either route is fine and neither costs anything.
- 02
We read your primary material
Product pages, technical specifications, published validation, and anything you send us. Capability is recorded in your words, quoted rather than paraphrased into something more flattering.
- 03
We classify honestly
Finished good or kit. Public price or by quotation. Fixed format or custom geometry. These distinctions decide whether a buyer’s expectation matches what arrives.
- 04
A confidence label is assigned and published
Verified, partially verified, or not yet verified — against a written definition, shown on the entry, with the capture date. It describes our evidence, not your competence.
- 05
You are sent requests that fit
Being listed does not generate a flow of irrelevant enquiries. A request reaches you when the specification matches what you have told the world you do.
- 06
You can correct or leave at any time
Write to us and we correct the entry against your own published material, or remove it. We record that a correction happened rather than deleting the history.
Listing is not endorsement and is not sold. The full method, including what we deliberately do not verify, is published at sourcing methodology.
Supplier application
Written for a laboratory manager, not a procurement portal. Everything except contact details and capability is optional.
