Description

Functional rather than structural QC: does the tissue actually do work. Curi Bio's Curi Engine 3D phenotyping phase explicitly engineers customer cells into 3D tissues and runs skeletal muscle function assays including tetanic force, fatigue and damage protocols, with a typical study duration of 3-5 weeks. The published Mantarray validation data gives concrete performance envelopes for what these measurements return: iPSC-derived engineered muscle tissue average twitch force rising from about 385 uN at day 7 to about 1,156 uN by day 10, average tetanic force about 1,660 uN, and primary human myoblast constructs around 306 uN twitch at day 7 and continuing to rise through day 14. Those numbers are what make a force-based acceptance criterion writable rather than aspirational. This is the offering that converts our contractile tissue work from a hopeful order into a specification with a pass/fail test, and it should be contracted as a separate line item so that the builder is not the sole judge of whether the build succeeded. Quote-only.

Why this is hard to buy today

Force phenotyping is currently bundled inside a drug-discovery service contract rather than sold as standalone acceptance testing, so there is no way to independently verify that a tissue you commissioned meets its spec.

Price evidence

No public price. Published performance reference points from the Mantarray validation paper: iPSC-derived engineered muscle tissue average twitch force 385-1,156 uN and average tetanic force about 1,660 uN; primary human myoblast constructs about 306 uN twitch at day 7.

These are supplier list prices we located and recorded, not a quotation from Wetware World. Your price depends on quantity, specification and freight, and is only binding once issued in writing.

What you must specify

A quote cannot be produced without these. Anything you leave open, a supplier will assume — usually expensively.

#Parameter
01Measurement type (twitch force, tetanic force, fatigue protocol, damage protocol, calcium imaging, MEA electrophysiology)
02Acceptance threshold in physical units and the exact protocol used to measure it
03Number of tissues and technical replicates
04Stimulation parameters during measurement
05Timepoints across maturation
06Whether measurement is destructive and what happens to units afterwards
07Raw waveform data delivery requirement
08Independence requirement (tested by the builder vs by a third party)

Quality documentation

Typically available with this item. What actually ships is confirmed on the quotation, per supplier.

  • Per-unit force traces against the acceptance criterion
  • Instrument calibration record
  • Measurement protocol documentation
  • Statistical summary across the batch

Candidate suppliers

Organisations we have identified as capable. Listing does not imply a partnership, an endorsement, or that they have agreed to quote.

OrganisationBasis for inclusion
Curi Bio (Curi Engine services) Phased fee-for-service: CRISPR iPSC editing 8-16 wk, iPSC expansion/banking 4-6 wk, directed differentiation 4-8 wk, 3D phenotyping study typically 3-5 wk, screening 4-12 wk. Deliverable is a report; whether they will sell the physical tissue is unconfirmed.
Curi Bio Mantarray 24-well tissue casting plate kit, Stimulation Kit lid, MantaReady media, myoblasts and iPSC lines. 'Request a Quote' on every SKU — no public price. Claims >95% tissue formation success rate.
eNUVIO (contract research) Service list explicitly includes '3D MUSCLE CULTURES // NEUROMUSCULAR JUNCTION MODELS (2D-3D)' and 'NEURAL SPHEROIDS'. States 'we do not offer off-the-shelf assays but rather develop customized assays'.
