Description
Primary human intestinal epithelium supplied as a differentiated, polarised barrier for drug absorption, drug metabolism, epithelial restitution, fibrosis and microbiome interaction studies. Two structurally different suppliers exist. MatTek's EpiIntestinal is a living tissue-on-insert following the same centralised weekly production and cold chain as its other epithelial models, with named application protocols for intestinal drug delivery, drug metabolism, epithelial restitution, inflammation and fibrosis. Altis Biosystems supplies RepliGut in Planar, Crypt and Immune Co-Culture configurations plus RepliGut Kits, and separately advertises a Custom Services line for gut models, which makes it the better route when the requirement deviates from a standard format. Neither publishes pricing. Region of origin — duodenum, jejunum, ileum, colon — materially changes the biology and is the first spec field to pin down.
Why this is hard to buy today
Three vendors sell things all called 'human intestinal model' that differ in cell source, architecture and what they can legitimately measure, and none of them publishes a comparison or a price.
