Description

Cryopreserved human spinal motor neurons differentiated from iPSCs, supplied as normal lines, sporadic ALS patient lines, and defined mutation lines such as SOD1 A4V and TDP-43 variants with matched isogenic controls. These are the correct cell input for neuromuscular junction work and for any project that needs a motor output rather than a cortical network. iXCells lists 40HU-005 Human Motor Neurons (iPSC, Normal) at $739, the sporadic ALS patient line 40HU-006 at $1,037, and SOD1 A4V homozygous 40HU-101 at $1,537, with isogenic controls priced back at the normal-line level. Axol lists motor neuron vials at $836 for at least 2 million cells and full kits at $2,046. Disease lines are the expensive part and the part with the longest availability gaps, so lot reservation matters more here than in any other cell line we broker.

Why this is hard to buy today

Disease-line availability is lumpy and unadvertised — a line can be listed and still be months out — and isogenic control pairing is priced and stocked separately by each vendor, so buyers routinely end up with a mutant line and no matched control.

Price evidence

iXCells 40HU-005 (Normal): $739; 40HU-006 (ALS sporadic): $1,037; 40HU-101 (SOD1 A4V HOM): $1,537 (same-day storefront capture 2026-09-01). Axol ax0076/0073/0074/0079/0735 motor neurons, >=2M cells: $836 each; kits $2,046. FUJIFILM CDI iCell Motor Neurons 01279: from $615 cells-only, from $715 as a 1M kit.

These are supplier list prices we located and recorded, not a quotation from Wetware World. Your price depends on quantity, specification and freight, and is only binding once issued in writing.

What you must specify

A quote cannot be produced without these. Anything you leave open, a supplier will assume — usually expensively.

#Parameter
01Genotype (normal / named mutation / isogenic control pair)
02Cell count per vial and number of vials
03Whether a matched isogenic control is required
04Media and supplement package
05Co-culture intent (e.g. with myotubes for NMJ)
06Required delivery date and lot reservation window

Quality documentation

Typically available with this item. What actually ships is confirmed on the quotation, per supplier.

  • Supplier certificate of analysis
  • Post-thaw viability specification
  • Motor neuron marker expression per supplier datasheet
  • Genotype confirmation for mutant lines per supplier documentation
