Description
Cryopreserved, expandable human neural stem cells or neural progenitor cells derived from iPSCs. Unlike terminally differentiated neurons these can be passaged, which makes them the economical input for any group that needs large or repeated neuronal yields and is willing to run the differentiation themselves. iXCells lists Human Neural Stem Cells (iPSC-derived, Normal), 40HU-001, at $1,040 per vial, verified live against their store API on 2026-09-01, with ALS sporadic and SOD1 A4V homozygous variants at $1,155. Axol lists NSC vials of at least 1.5 million cells from unaffected donors at $745, sporadic Alzheimer's ApoE variants at $1,200, and a Huntington's CAG125 line at $1,550. One consent restriction is documented and material: Axol's ax0018 donor lineage carries a sequencing restriction on ethical-consent grounds that propagates to several downstream products, and any buyer planning to sequence should be routed away from that lineage.
Why this is hard to buy today
Consent and use restrictions attached to specific donor lineages are buried in footnotes and propagate silently to derived products, so a buyer can purchase a line and only discover at publication time that they were not permitted to sequence it.
